About the model
Made by Buffet Crampon, in specially designed German workshops in Markneukirchen. The E 11 has a wide bore, which provides a light response with an open sound.

Lohff & Pfeiffer comments to the model
The Buffet Crampon E11 is the wooden version of the B12 student clarinet and the successor of the Evette clarinet.
The bore, tone hole position, and shape, as well as the keys of the E11, are identical to the B12, the legendary student clarinet of Buffet, developed and produced first in Nauheim near Frankfurt. After the reunification of Germany, the production was moved to the Buffet plant in Markneukirchen. Today it is produced primarily in China.
The bore is with 14.85mm wide and allows a free airflow with little resistance, optimal for beginners and young players. The dynamic range is stable from piano to forte and helps the student to get accustomed to a reliable intonation. The wide bore allows the use of closed mouthpieces without the feel of too much resistance. See also Clarinet bores and sounds.

The E11 is only available in African Blackwood with the black stained surface to give them an even look, independent from the original color of the different body parts. This has no influence on the sound. For players, who prefer the original wood, but as a reduced risk of cracking, Lohff & Pfeiffer offer the tone hole crack prevention for all wooden instruments as an option.

The E 11 is also available with the left hand Eb/Ab lever as an E- 11 L. Alternatively, we can add the key to any model separately.

Buffet offers the E 11 either with nickel-plated keys or silverplated. Our clear preference and recommendation are the silverplated version to prevent the risk of nickel allergies we Besides its antibacterial properties, does the silver-plating last much longer than the nickel-plating and keeps the value of the instrument longer. Lohff and Pfeiffer offers the E11 in a LP-Small-hand version like the Prodige and Premium.
