Straubinger pads

David Straubinger developed the Straubinger Pad in the 80's. It is a high quality pad primarily installed on high-end flutes. This can be a nice alternative for players who prefer the softer sound and touch of fish skin. Due to the fragile material, we noticed that the durability and lifetime is limited compared to cork pads.

The pad consists of a hard-shell base, in which a soft synthetic layer works as a cushion. The precision of these pads is amazing and worth the extra expense. Both are encapsulated inside 2 layers of fish skin. Read more on Straubinger Pad ,
