The L&P Soloist Setup is our top-of-the-line offer. Equipped with our LP Ball bearing system
, it is designed to perform beyond expectations, even under the toughest conditions.

:
The special mechanical set-up of the key work allows the wood to expand and contract freely without sacrificing a perfect seal or creating mechanical noises. This is the perfect choice for those playing under conditions where the humidity changes significantly or where your instrument is exposed to additional stress (such as seasonal weather changes or travel between varying climates).

Perfect Sealing: Like our L&P Pro or Studio set up , the wood and all tone holes are specially treated to provide a perfect seal. This increases compression inside the instrument, which means more sound and stronger overtones with less effort from you.

Available with the LP Silent padding system or corkpads

Superior Mechanics: With the L&P Soloist set up, the mechanics and pad venting are optimized to account for the greater pressure caused by a "tight" sealing instrument. We also utilize integrated key bumpers to further reduce key noise. The resulting action is extremely light and fast.

The traditional mechanism will hold the long keys loosely between the pivot screws mounted inside the posts. When the humidity increases, the wood will expand causing the distance between the posts to expand also. This causes the key to become loose and can rattle between the posts back and forth. This creates unnecessary wear on the key and screws and produces irritating noises. When the humidity decreases, the instrument will shrink and the keys can begin to bind.

The ball bearing system overcomes all of these obstacles. The pivot screws are replaced with our elite ball bearing system. A screw is put through the post directly into the key. The key is screwed onto the post. To allow the key to turn, we install ball-bearings into the post.

The screw, ball-bearing, and key are built into one unit. You will see that the screw turns together with the key when operated. Since the key is fastened onto that post it can't wiggle around, eliminating the key noises and any type of wear.

On the other side of the key, a cylindrical pin goes into the other post. When the distance between the posts increases, the key will always be tight to the first post. The distance between the 2nd post and key will vary because the pin installed inside the key can slide in and out of the 2nd ball bearing installed in the 2nd post.

With the Soloist set up, the mechanics and pad venting are optimized to account for the greater pressure caused by a "tight" sealing instrument. We also utilize integrated key bumpers to further reduce key noise. The resulting action is extremely light and fast. Most pivot screws are replaced with our LP Ball bearing system
.

Padding: The L&P Soloist set up offers players their choice of "L&P Pro" (cork and white leather) or LP Silent Padding System®
(black padding). Like all L&P set-ups, the L&P Soloist can be applied to any new or used clarinet.
