About the model
The Tradition is an instrument that presents a clear, focused, rich sound suitable for any acoustic environment and an even scale for consistent intonation throughout all registers.
The new clarinet also places its roots firmly in research and development from Buffet Crampon?s American and French Artists.
The American team, composed of Buffet Crampon Artists:
Jonathan Gunn, Burt Hara, Victoria Luperi, Mark Nuccio and Gregory Raden.
The French team, composed of Buffet Crampon Artists: Michel Arrignon, Nicolas Baldeyrou and Paul Meyer.

Lohff & Pfeiffer comments to the model
The Buffet Crampon Tradition is a professional clarinet, inside the R13 family.

The sound is dark, focused and carries well. Like all small-bore instruments, it has more resistance than older or wider reamed instruments and therefore allows the use of a mouthpiece with a larger opening and softer reeds.
See also:Clarinet bores and sounds.

This model comes with the left hand Eb/Ab key.
The Tradition is available in African blackwood. To reduce the risk of cracking, Lohff & Pfeiffer offer the tone hole crack prevention for all wooden instruments as an option.
See also: LP Tone hole crack prevention.

The bell of the Tradition A clarinet has the same narrow opening as the Tosca to improve the intonation and stability in the high register. This narrow bore causes the low F and E to be lower than usual. Therefore, an additional F correction key has been added. For players who wish an even sharper F or E we can add an additional low E & F resonance mechanism. See Low E-F correction.
See also: LP nickel protection.

Like all small-bore instruments, it does have some resistance and allows the use of a more open mouthpiece. It can be combined nicely with R13, R13 Prestige, Legend, Festival, Tradition, Vintage, and Tosca.

The Tradition is available with nickel or silver-plated keys. Players with nickel allergies should choose the silver-plated version. We offer additional nickel protection on top of the plating for players who prefer the smooth nickel feeling to prevent direct contact with the nickel. The posts of both versions are usually without any plating. On-demand, we can provide them with silver or gold plating.
