About the model
Anton Stadler is probably the first clarinettist to have played the instrument that is the precursor of the A basset and basset horn.
Its range was greater by a major third in the low register and its sound was unique and sweet. This clarinet is in A but descends to a low C. These remarkably designed instruments are made of grenadilla wood and finished with the Buffet Crampon Prestige finish.
The modern basset clarinet, designed with all of the perfected elements of the Boehm system developed by Buffet Crampon, enables clarinettists to play concertos and quintets as they were conceived and imagined by Mozart.
